Our Third Commercial Satellite

In 2023, Wyvern celebrated two successful satellite launches. Now, we are thrilled to introduce Dragonette-003, registered under the name EPICHyper-3. This latest addition to the Dragonette constellation took off smoothly from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on November 11, 2023. Currently, the three Dragonettes are operating under an innovative space data as a service (SDaaS) agreement. In this partnership, AAC Clyde Space owns and operates the satellites, while Wyvern owns and licenses the high-resolution, hyperspectral data they deliver.

With this launch and our collaboration with Loft Orbital, a space infrastructure organization, we are on track to expand our constellation to four satellites in 2024. For Wyvern, an expanded Dragonette constellation allows for increased satellite capacity, higher revisit rates, and more data for our customers.

The Dragonette constellation is only the beginning of our journey. Wyvern is actively developing the imagers for its second generation of satellites. This updated technology will offer enhanced insights by extending our data’s spectral range, providing customers with even more valuable insights and strengthening Wyvern’s identity as the high-resolution hyperspectral data provider of choice.

Wyvern’s commitment to delivering high-quality data doesn’t stop with our second generation satellites. We’re actively enhancing our core technology: deployable optics. Our deployable optical telescopes will be folded during launch and unfold the mirrored surfaces while in space, offering much higher resolution compared to similar-sized satellites. Not only will they be cost-effective to launch, but they will also provide groundbreaking data quality. This innovative approach to Earth Observation will establish Wyvern as the authoritative source for uncovering Earth’s hidden secrets.
